What we do

EUSDS runs classes in styles such as lindy hop, balboa and collegiate shag (see here for a full range). Each semester there is always at least one course for complete beginners, although we ask that you join during the first two weeks. There are also classes for more experienced dancers.

Social dancing

Many society members go dancing at other venues in Edinburgh and beyond. One of the best ways to improve is to get on the dance floor and try out what you've learned for real! For new members, the committee often arrange to meet up as a group beforehand so you don't have to walk in on your own the first time.

The committee also organise EUSDS dances and other social events such as weekends away at Firbush Point Field Centre.

All members are able to take part in the University's annual dance performance (though this is not compulsory!) Members also sometimes takes part in historical re-enactments, films, etc.
