Dancing at an EUSDS ball

A Brief History of EUSDS

Edinburgh University Dance Society was founded in 1998 by Ria de Baise, an exchange student from California, and Jamie Davies, a member of University staff, both of whom had been dancing Lindy Hop for a few years before.

The society  is proud to have been a pioneer amongst student dance societies, and continues to take the lead in many aspects of swing dance in Scotland. We may dance Lindy Hop a lot, but some of our 'firsts' emphasize that, while there are many other places to learn this dance, EUSDS has long been the home of the other, less-common but still highly enjoyahble dances of the swing age. For example;

We are always willing to work with other dance groups in our area, and are especially keen to make contact (and help, if we can) any other University dance societies that form in the UK.
